Nice

Nice job, again, I have to say I like this orchestra/drum kinda style you're developing. A bit of guitar would help though, haha.

Good Strings:
-I like the chord buildup and than the in your face drum intro at 28 seconds. Good hi-hat usage to build a sense of anticipation.
-Loved the melody transition at 2:19. Like dhow you slowed down the tempo and backed it with the banging drums and brass. And of course the slow chord rises int he background were nice.
-I find your brass to be slowly improving in your songs and I like what I'm hearing. You've really progressed brass-wise man, sounds a lot better than it used to.

Bad Things:
-Something I've always wondered and I'm honestly not sure if this is a bad thing or not. But why do your drums always sound kinda echo-ey? It seems like it was recorded from a real drummer that was sitting far away from the orchestra. Which is good cuz' the drums sound real but I would like the drums to sound more integrated into the song and not so far-off sounding. And this goes for most of your orchestra/drum songs.

Great stuff here mann, keep em' comin' 5/5, peace.

Nice

Nice job man, sounds pretty good.

Good Things:
-Nice string usage.
-Interesting breathing effect, haha.
-Liked the string pluck kinda melody.
-Nice gun cocking noises. Could've been placed a bit better though in the song in my opinion.
-Cool intro.

Bad Things:
-Faint "whats" in the background were kind of unnecessary. Very overused as well.
-Instead of having that synth I would have preferred some good ole' strong brass backing up the string melodies. And for all I know the synth might've been brass, but even if it was it didn't sound nearly convincing enough.
-When you had those claps, they should've been a lot louder.
-Hip-hop style snare just doesn't suit me at all. But as most people know, it's a personal preference and I understand most hip-hop songs demand it's use unfortunately.
-Timpani hits near the end should've packed a lot more punch.
-Song need a lot more in general, sounded kinda empty. Maybe some choir?

Nice song man, keep em' coming. 5/5, peace.

DatBoiNC responds:

Thanks for your comment. Thanks alot for your infomation

Nice

Damn man, nice job, loved the choir in this one. Btw, I'm gonna test out my new review format for this song, you'll be the first to see it, haha.

Good Things:
-Beginning choir was great, some of the best I've heard.
-Choir throughout the song was really good, use this choir more and make some epic symphonic metal shit, haha.
-Drumwork at the end was cool, haha.

Bad Things:
-Guitar tone was kinda eh. Very buzzy and grindy sounding. Didn't blend well with the song.
-The way the bass guitar came in was nice, but it didn't seem like it was going at the same tempo as the choir. Seemed a beat late for some reason.
-The bass and snare kinda killed it for me. They both just sounded way too hollow sounding, especially the snare.
-What the hell was weird those weird scratchy noises that started around 52 seconds? It sounded like you were taking your fingers off the strings or something, Idk, made that part sound bad though.
-Liked the epic guitar and choir part that started around 1:33. Although the bass got kind annoying at that part with those rapid hits. Too overpowering.
-Guitar tone at 2:12.. ouch... Although the guitar and choir integration there was epic as hell. Loved how you threw in those weird squeal distortions. Fave part of my song by far.
-I'd really like a remake of this song. Or better yet some more of that guitar(better tone mind you) and choir with some orchestra, hehe.

Scores:
1. Originality(Whether its generic or unique)= 8/10
-More people need to make metal songs like this, haha.
2. Concept(Style and idea)= 9/10
-Just need orchestra, haha.
3. Execution(The way it sounds in general)= 7/10
4. Sound quality(sound quality of the song)= 7\10
-Guitar tone and drums man..
5. Melody(Main melody)= 8/10
-Sounded nice with the choir and all that, and as I said before, liked those weird squeal distortions, don't know what the hell they're called.
6. Harmony(backing and counter melodies)= 8/10
-Choir was epic as shit.
7. Transitions(transitions between melodies)= 8/10
8. Percussion(how good the beat or percussion/drums parts are)= 7/10
-Drums kinda annoyed me, like the snare and bass.
9. Instrument usage(How good the instrumental usage is)= 8/10
-Orchestra!

Final Score:
70/90=78%

Shit, I need a 10th category, was supposed to be outta 100 points. Ah well. This is just a "beta" review format anyways. Tell me what you think man, and nice job, love this concept of epic choir and guitar. 5/5, peace.

FarCryDX responds:

I love the guitar tone! Haha, I love the scratchy ness that almost makes the powerchord non existant :P and those squeals are called pinch harmonics haha.

The scratchy noises.. Eh.. There used to be a guitar lead solo thing there and when I recorded that rythm part I think it kind of picked up the leads for a milisecond so theres the result, haha.

Thanks man. I think the review format is perfect! haha, if your willing to shell it out every time.

Haha

Some good shit man, glad you made this remix. Not gonna do my normal review format for this one but I'll just throw in a couple things.

-I would've liked a slightly deeper kick. The beat was great but so much is happening with other instruments taking the melody that it slightly overshadows the beat.
-Liked the snare, but again kinda overpowered by the melody instruments.

Well yeah, that's about it. Great job man, keep em' coming, 5/5, peace.

AeraDynamic responds:

Hm, you always find something to improve right? xDDD But tell me how should I remix this up in your way? You say the beat is to quiet and get oversounded by the Melody, but when I turn the beat up it overwhelms the melody part .___. I think its alright like it is, I could change something in the mixing but I'll leave it like that >,< Thanks for the Review

Nice

Damn, I'm actually really likin' this one man.

Good Things:
-Guitar sounded really good.
-The clap was honestly alright in my opinion, but I guess a snare wouldn't bad bad either.
-Really liked the strings in this one nice melody.
-Nice piano runs, added to the mood of the song.
-Loved the string instrument that came in around 1:46, sounded really good. Good high backing strings int hat part as well.

Bad Things:
-Some low cello parts could've worked well this song, like in Zajed's "Remember." But other than that this song is pretty much fine.

Nice job man, keep em' coming, 5/5, peace.

K-Dm responds:

w0rd

ya i agree... i actually do have a cello in thur sumwhur... but its way too in the bg
i shoulda added more low strings n made them stand out more

neways thx for the awesome review as always man haha

Nice

A great song man. Nice job.

Good Things:
-Amazing instrumentation, many things happening at once, which is a good thing.
-Nice strings and cultural instruments.

Bad Things:
-I kept waiting for a hip-hop beat to come in, but than I realized it was in the classical section... Damn it, haha.

Not much to say for this one, other than I was expecting some hip-hop integration, heh. Keep em' coming man, 5/5, peace.

K-Dm responds:

lol i actually did want this to be a hip hop song at first...
but i had trouble combining the cultural drums with hip hop drums
so i ended up just leaving it classical lol

this is also the first track i released using east west
which is y my orchestrals might sound a lil better =)

neways glad u liked it
sry i left out the hip hop haha

Nice

Very good song, sounds great!

Good Things:
-Female vocalist was very good. Damn! :)
-Good use of strings, melodies blended well together.
-Smooth transitions.
-Nice flute.

Bad Things:
-I feel like some more powerful drums could've been used. Easy to overlook though.
-Some dark male choir could've been used at the more sinister parts. Like near the end accompanying the brass.
-I'm a fan of modernized classical songs, and this piece would sound great with some guitar and drums, but that's just me.

Nice job man, to you and the female vocalist, she's amazingly talented. 5/5, peace.

MaestroRage responds:

I agree with all the cons, I don't know if I can get some guitar in there, but you've sparked my interest! Now I will definitely have to try it out...

thanks for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Nice

Hell yeah man, I'm likin' this!

Good Things:
-Drums were really good. Had a nice heavy feel to em'.
-Great choir, really good integration. Nice intro as well.
-Guitar was pretty damn good, yeah, artificial, but acceptable. I've heard much worse.
-Snare sounded kind of strange sometimes. But most of the time the drums were kickass. Toms were great.
-Nice strings usage.

Bad Things:
-Well yes, the guitar would be a lot better if it was real, but it sounds good.
-5:28 sounded kind of weird, guitar solo I'm assuming, but eh. Good though. Weird sound effects, which are solos I'm assuming, recur throughout the song but they sound alright.
-Song was really long, not sure if it's a bad thing but damn, haha.
-You seriously gotta get some real guitarists to work on this! I'll try to contact some right now here on NG! You should too man, this could be some epic shit right here if a real guitarist had some fun with it!

Well great job man, keep em' coming! 5/5, peace. Get a guitarist!

TiiBag responds:

Thanks for the review. I made this one a while ago haha a lot of my techniques have improved (although lack of a guitarist or skill to play my crappy guitar still remain).

The weird sound effects I believe are just my lack of a good harpsichord xD
...or the lack of a good synth solo instrument (like a saw or sine).

Anyway I know this reply is like 5 months late but I don't post music often (because I don't finish most of it) so I rarely check my account, but thanks for the review xD

Nice

Bout' time you made shit like this man, haha.

Good Things:
-Liked the string intro obviously.
-Like the way you used a basic "off to war" type snare to take the beat rather than a hip-hop type one.
-Nice brass, impressive.
-Nice string melody variations, Iike how you kept this song from being too repetitive.
-Smooth ending.

Bad Things:
-The snare drop at around 22 seconds was cool, but I think like 3 or 4 slow heavy beats would've worked better than that rapid kinda roll for the drop.
-At 48 seconds, I feel like heavy timpani hits would've worked better rather than that dull sounding kick.
-That recurring jingling bell effect in the background really got on my nerves and sounded kind of random.
-Choir woulda worked really well in this song.

Good job man, do more stuff like this, haha. 5/5, peace.

flashmac responds:

Your right about pretty much everything. Thanks a lot for the review

Nice

Pretty good man, epic symphonic metal, hell yeah.

-17 seconds to 34 seconds sounded pretty cool, although I felt like the guitar was kind too loud and the tone was a bit too buzzy. But it definitely was pretty epic.
-At around 36, when you start accompanying the melody, Idk, for some reason that hurt my ears. The guitar was either too loud or it was slightly out of tune, or both.. It just felt like that part wasn't really "polished" if you know what I mean.
-Ending coulda been better but w/e.

Well great job man, keep this symphonic metal shit comin'! 5/5, peace.
